It’s been a while and I have some thoughts

I am not even sure when I last posted here. I do know that so much about the world has changed.

I am certain we all thought this year, 2020, would go so much different; so much better. Needless to say, we could not have been more wrong. However, I’d like to focus on the positive if I may.

I started the year off doing something I did not think I would be able to do but also knew that if I did not do it, I would never gain any ground with my mental health recovery. I deleted ALL my social media accounts January 1st. This was super hard given I was mostly active on my business accounts so I was scared no one would be able to find me for my services. Lo’ and behold, I have been found! I have been working for a little over a year at our local health food store and so many of my clients have found me there! I have had the opportunity to help so many more people through “one on one” mini-consults at the store and I have not regretted for one second missing all the “stuff” on social media.

I was able to celebrate my 40th birthday with my entire family and even though it was not in Greece like I had planned, due to travel restrictions, I loved being with my whole family. We rented a home with a gorgeous outdoor space and pool. My husband and kids lavished me with attention, drinks and wonderful food the whole weekend!

I was able to provide my family with a weekend away to the coast for us all to get a break from the reality of COVID. We stayed in our condo or on our own spot at the beach so we felt pretty safe. We even dined out the few times we were able to secure outdoor seating. It was a really hot climate but we enjoyed many cold drinks.

My point…I’m choosing to focus on the positive and I encourage you too as well. I’ve cried, mourned, been angry, been depressed and definitely been anxious. Those are all valid reactions. Move through them as you need and take all the time you need. In the end though, focus on the positive.
